Japan’s Honda unveiled another electric concept at the Beijing Motor Show. It is very different from the cute Honda e.

At the Beijing International Motor Show, Honda boasted a plug-in hybrid version of the CR-V. However, the main star of the stand is the electric concept with the eloquent name e: concept, which attracts similar attention to itself as the vision of the electric car before. Honda e (also in the photo gallery).

But with this cute little finger we already have could try as part of a traditional editorial test, the novelty has almost nothing in common. Instead of round headlights at the front, the e: concept uses sharply cut horizontal headlights connected by a horizontal line to illuminate, as well as at the rear. The hallmark is the car’s large logo, two-door design and SUV-coupe-style body.

It can be assumed that the car will be further modified into a serial form, as was the case with the Honda e. However, the representatives of the Japanese carmaker say that the novelty indicates the direction of the future mass-produced electric car. It is also the first electric car that the company will introduce in China, where electric cars are currently a big topic and we will find a number of them at the Beijing Motor Show.
Apart from the attractive design, Honda also wants to impress with the technologies on board. The car will be equipped with a plethora of safety and assistance systems, including improved recognition of signs and ambient conditions or driving predictions. Honda says the redesigned system will allow safer transport in even more complex and diverse conditions. The brand wants to demonstrate the car’s capabilities to selected Chinese representatives before the end of this year.

Following the example of the Honda e, there will also be a new generation of the Honda Connect system with artificial intelligence, the possibility of mirroring a smartphone or wireless updates. The Japanese are counting on serial production, but so far they have not told us exactly when we will see the finished car and whether it will be available in Europe as well.
