Honda Increases Car Prices, WR-V Banderol So Much

Jakarta

Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) made price adjustments to the car product lines sold in Indonesia. Their new small SUV, the Honda WR-V, has also experienced a price increase.

The Honda WR-V itself just launched at the end of 2022. However, in just a matter of months, the price of the Toyota Raize and Daihatsu Rocky competitor cars has experienced a price increase.

Some time ago, Business Innovation and Sales & Marketing Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor, Yusak Billy, has hinted that the price for the Honda WR-V as of January 2023 will experience a price increase. There are several factors that made Honda raise the price of its car at the beginning of the year.

“Because there is BBN, the NJKB is different, then the production costs are different,” Billy said in December 2022.

Currently, the price for the Honda WR-V starts at IDR 279.4 million. The highest type has reached IDR 317 million.

Honda WR-V price as of January 2023:

  • Honda WR-V 1.5LE: IDR 279,400,000 (up IDR 7.5 million)
  • Honda WR-V 1.5L RS: IDR 297,400,000 (up IDR 7.5 million)
  • Honda WR-V 1.5L RS with Honda Sensing: IDR 317,400,000 (up IDR 7.5 million).

Honda is still experiencing a semiconductor chip crisis. Per month, Honda can only send 1,700 WR-V units.

“This is because semiconductor chips are still unstable. Next year (2023) will still be the same, until March there will be approximately (shipping of Honda WR-V) of 1,500-1,700 units per month. Because semiconductor chips are still unstable,” said Billy.

Meanwhile, the Honda WR-V is offered with a 1.5 L i-VTEC DOHC inline 4-cylinder DBW engine, 16 valves. This machine has a maximum power of 121 PS at 6,600 rpm and a maximum torque of 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm. For now, Honda only provides a CVT transmission option for the WR-V.
