Honda has finally joined in enlivening the domestic electric motorbike market. At the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), PT Astra Honda Motor launched the EM1 e: electric motorbike. Honda is also opening orders for consumers who want this electric motorbike.
Even so, Honda has not announced the official price of the EM1 e: electric motorbike. Honda only provides an estimated price in the range of IDR 40 – IDR 45 million. But the price is not final, because Honda has also fulfilled the requirement of using local components at least 40%.
Thus, Honda electric motorbikes are certain to receive a subsidy of IDR 7 million. This means that the price will be lower than the estimate given. A rough estimate is that the price of a Honda electric motorbike will be sold in the range of IDR 33 million to the most expensive IDR 38 million. Honda details for one EM1 e electric motorbike: IDR 30 million – IDR 33 million, while the battery is in the range of IDR 10 million – IDR 12 million. Currently, Honda has registered the motorbike on the SISAPIRa page which is specifically accessed for subsidized electric motorbikes.

With an estimate of IDR 30 million, this electric motorbike can cover a distance of 41.1 km. The maximum speed reaches 45 km/hour. This motorbike is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 26.1 Ah. The battery weight reaches 10.3 kg. Meanwhile, the overall weight of the motorbike reaches 93 kg. The electric motor uses an in-wheel brushless motor with a maximum power of 1.7 kW at 540 rpm.
Honda EM1 e: uses an underbone frame. The front tire size is 90/90- 12 44 J while the rear tire is 100/90 – 10 56J. The front brakes use hydraulic discs and the rear drum brakes. The braking system uses the Combi Brake System. The front suspension is telescopic and the rear suspension is double.
When charging the battery, consumers can charge it with the Honda Power Pack Charger e: with a charging time of 2.7 hours (160 minutes) for 25%-75% and 6 hours for 0%-100% or consumers can visit Honda Power Pack Exchanger e: to exchange a fully charged battery.
