Yesterday, the Japanese carmaker introduced the new Civic, which will arrive as a hybrid. More electrified news will follow.

As part of the premiere eleventh generation Honda Civic the Japanese brand boasted other plans for the near future. She confirmed that already in 2023 she would start to expand her model line with other, exclusively electrified innovations. In all cases, we are talking about the category of sport utility vehicles.

New additions include the fully electric B-segment SUV, the C-segment hybrid SUV, as well as the new generation of the CR-V, which will arrive in Europe for the first time with both hybrid and plug-in hybrid propulsion. “In 2023, we will introduce new models that set the direction for the new generation of Honda electrified cars, all of which retain eye-catching driving dynamics, comfort and exceptional utility.” Tom Gardner, Executive Vice President, Honda Motor Europe, told a news conference.

We can get the best picture about the upcoming electric car. Honda boasted the first video of a prototype called e: Ny1, whose appearance should not be far from the serial form of the vehicle. The technical details remain a mystery, but the carmaker emphasizes that its electric novelty will be suitable as the first electric car in the family. We’ll see if the price matches.

But the future vision of the Honda brand does not end here either. In 2040, it wants to end the sale of cars with internal combustion engines worldwide, and ten years later it intends to become carbon neutral for all products and company activities. A key part of this strategy is said to be that all major markets – including the European market – will increase their share of sales of electric cars and fuel cell vehicles to 40% by 2030 and 80% by 2035.
