Officials are now looking for a suspect in this connection with new mugshots. Pictured is 30-year-old Rafal Artur Pawlak. He is of Polish nationality, has dark hair and a receding hairline and was dressed in dark clothing on the day of the crime. Specifically, he was wearing sweatpants and a long-sleeved top that possibly contained the Adidas logo. He also wore yellow shoes and a dark shoulder bag.

According to Munich police, there is no danger to the public

According to the police, shortly before the murder there was a physical altercation between several people who were all known to each other. The main suspect for the 57-year-old’s killing is still at large. However, there should be no danger to the public. Two other men suspected of being involved in the crime have already been arrested as part of the search.

The Old Botanical Garden, located near Munich Central Station, is considered a crime hotspot in the Bavarian capital. The city administration set up a central station task force months ago to improve the situation. Since then there have been the first urban development changes and also video surveillance of the hot spot. The video surveillance images are used to search for the fleeing man.

Anyone who would like to provide information about the crime or the suspect can do so at the Munich police headquarters on 089-29100.
