BERGEN/OSLO (VG) Police are investigating a homicide after two people were found dead on Wednesday at Ytre Sandviken in Bergen.
– There are two people who died and the accident happened at a private address, says director of operations Stein Rune Halleraker to VG at 5:55 pm.
Police received a report about one person at 4.10pm, and when help arrived, life-saving first aid was sent to the scene immediately, but the person was pronounced dead shortly after.
Another person was later found, who was pronounced dead a short time later.
– The police still don’t have the full picture, we are at the very beginning of a murder investigation. Two people were found here. Health came first, and was called upon by people in the area. They found a woman outside an apartment, seriously injured, police chief Frank Listøl told TV 2.
The second person was found inside an apartment. Both people were transported to Haukeland hospital.
Police have no personal information on the two dead and next of kin have not been informed, Halleraker said.
They still have some working hypotheses about who the two are.
I’m not looking for anyone in particular
No one has been arrested.
Operations leader Listøl says in a press conference with, among others, VG on site that they are not actively looking for a third person:
– We do not have a third party pointing out that we are looking for. This could change.
– So it’s not certain that a third party is involved?
– It’s not certain that it does, but we can’t confirm anything. We have no active searches in this area where we are.
Waiting for crime scene technicians
Operations director Halleraker says they’re working with several assumptions they don’t want to delve into now. The incident is currently being investigated as a suspicious death.
At 19:00 the carabinieri declare that they have examined external areas, cars and stalls. So far they haven’t found anything of interest. But it could be coming soon:
– Now there is a lot of information on the scene that we don’t have, we are waiting for the crime technicians who will be here shortly. When we get answers from there, we will have a completely different picture than the current one.
– The police are now facing a murder investigation here in Bergen, and we rigged our organization for it, says foreman Listøl.
There is no indication that there is a danger to other people in the area and no people have been evacuated.
They also write that the police are working with great resources to find out who they are and what happened at the scene, this is currently unclear.
