The man in the bus shelter doesn’t talk to anyone; not with the people who come to bring him something, but also not with the aid workers.

Alkmaar – Aid workers are at a loss for a homeless man who has been bivouacking for months in a bus shelter on the stately Princess Julianalaan in Alkmaar. The man refuses any kind of help. According to Hil Rabenberg, director of the homeless foundation dnoDoen, it is an unreal picture. “Uncomfortable, confrontational and sad. You don’t want this, and you don’t have to. There is room for this gentleman. But then he has to want to.”
