Guimarães was recently taken care of by a hairdresser and employees of a clothing store. The photos of his new look were shared on social media and that’s how his family found out that he is still alive.

The man had walked past the store in question many times, usually to pick up cans so he could get some money for them. Recently he decided to go in. “We asked if he was hungry and if he wanted something to eat. But he didn’t want that, he asked if we had a razor so he could touch up his beard, ”owner Alessandro Lobo tells UOL. “Then we came up with the idea of ​​helping him in a different way and offering him a beauty day.”

The photos from before the makeover show that Guimarães was quite haggard. He had a long beard and long, greasy hair that was quite knotted. “The transformation took two hours.”

The man’s family eventually contacted Lobo, who in turn sought out Guimarães to bring about a reunion. “João still lives on the street. His sister has offered to live with her, but he doesn’t want that. He said he feels free on the street. ”
