Mendikbudristek Nadiem Makarim “returns home” to Boston on a series of business visits to the United States. Never studied at Harvard, this is what he misses most.
Nadiem really misses eating at the Panda Express, the Chinese food that Nadiem often ate when he was a student there.
So when they arrived at a shopping mall, the group was immediately invited to the food court and Panda Express outlet. Nadiem seemed very agile in choosing the menu.

Nadiem’s favorite menu is Orange Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken. But he also likes cheese dumplings and he recommends them. “There’s a menu here that doesn’t exist in other countries,” he said.
After choosing his favorite chicken menu, Nadiem immediately sat down in the food court and mingled with the other visitors.
Nadiem revealed that he really misses eating at the Panda Express.
“When I just arrived, I went straight to Panda Express. The problem is that when (becoming) a student, that’s what I can afford,” Nadiem said of meeting Indonesian students in Massachusetts who were greeted with laughter on Tuesday (20 / 9/2022) local time. Nadiem attended Harvard University Business School for two years (2009-2011).

During his visit to Boston, Nadiem visited MIT, Northwestern University, and Harvard University to discuss a number of collaborations. Nadiem paid a working visit to New York, Boston and Washington DC, United States (USA) from 15 September to 24 September 2022.
His journey to America began with a public talk co-organized by the New York University (NYU) International Cooperation Center with NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, on 9/16/2022. Nadiem then spoke at the United Nations headquarters, in the “UN Transforming Education Summit” event, on 19/9/2022. Then Nadiem will visit George Washington University in Washington DC and the Smithsonian Institute.
