Homecoming Homecoming Stories Failed to Leave because of Late “Check-in”, Airplane Tickets Worth Rp. 1.4 Million Scorched All

TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com – The woman with the initials JZ (23) failed to leave going home Eid from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang City, Thursday (28/4/2022).

He should have gone home to Malang, East Java, by plane, at around 10.30 WIB. However, JZ couldn’t join the flight because he was late check-in.

“Yes, it was said that the officer couldn’t do it, check-in was late, so he canceled going home (by plane),” said JZ, when contacted, Thursday.

JZ arrives at Sub Terminal 2E Soekarno Hatta Airport at 09.00 WIB. After that he immediately lined up for check-in at an airline counter.

He was in line for about 20 to 30 minutes. When it was his turn, the counter clerk said that it was time check-in has ended.

“It took about 20 to 30 minutes, the officer informed me check-inwhen it’s time check-in it’s over,” he said.

Suddenly, JZ was shocked when he was told this information. Then, he came to customer service airline which is also located at Sub Terminal 2E.

JZ was about to ask if the plane ticket was forfeited because it was late check-in. The customer service officer explained to JZ that the ticket could no longer be used.

Then, JZ looked for another ticket for the Soekarno-Hatta Airport flight route to Malang or Surabaya, East Java, today. Unfortunately, there are no more tickets for that route.

“There is a plane ticket to Malang for tomorrow, but the price is already Rp. 3 million,” he said. “This forfeited ticket costs Rp. 1.4 million. The difference is far, so I didn’t buy it,” he continued.

The ticket price to Malang which is classified as normal, said JZ, is only available for May 2, 2022.

“I was crying in front of the toilet, sobbing, but only for a moment,” he said.

Then, JZ decided to go home by bus. From Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Pasar Rebo Terminal, East Jakarta, JZ uses a taxi at a cost of Rp. 200,000.

JZ insisted on going home today because his whole family would go to Surabaya and Solo, Central Java, during Eid.

Arriving at the terminal, JZ bought a bus ticket to Malang for Rp. 900,000. Previously, from a boarding house in South Jakarta to Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Thursday morning, JZ had spent Rp 160,000.

“So, roughly the money that came out was up to IDR 1,260,000. That’s not the same as the plane ticket (which was forfeited worth IDR 1.4 million),” he said.

Now, JZ is at the Pasar Rebo Terminal to wait for the departure of the bus fleet.
