“Home visit” for hard-working blood donors – Hardheim

Hardheim. Because of the corona-related restrictions, the multiple blood donors could not be honored by the Hardheim community last year.

This has not been possible this year either. Nevertheless, the voluntary commitment of the blood donors, who, through their selfless actions, ensure sufficient blood reserves for urgently needed operations, should be recognized accordingly.

That is why the German Red Cross, Local Association Hardheim, agreed to visit the multiple blood donors from 2019 and 2020 at home by making an appointment. The certificate and badge of honor from the blood donation service of the German Red Cross as well as a personal letter from Mayor Volker Rohm were presented.

Small thank you from the association

At the same time, the DRK also presented a small gift as a thank you. The local association of the Red Cross provided and financed this gift itself, because it is important to them to appreciate the unrestricted readiness of the blood donors and to thank them for their civic commitment.

Mayor Rohm, who is also Vice President of the DRK district association Buchen, praised the selfless actions of the blood donors in his personal letter, also on behalf of the local council. According to Volker Rohm, blood is irreplaceable, saves and sustains lives and makes a major contribution to the range of medical services in the region’s clinics. “Who knows how many lives you have already saved with your actions, how many – thanks to your donation – have recovered.”

The DRK Hardheim with the chairman Joachim Sieber and his deputies Tim Stolzenberger and Klaus Farrenkopf had contacted the multiple blood donors to be honored – 18 donors for 2019 and twelve multiple donors for 2020 – about a handover date, and then last Saturday, in compliance with the hygiene regulations, they gave certificates and gifts Presented at home.
