A break was good
The time off was just right for head coach Jordan Smotherman‘s team. “Our last two games in Klagenfurt and Laibach were a step forward, so we went into the break with a good feeling. The boys now had time to clear their heads and recharge their batteries. That was good for them, we noticed that in training this week,” said the coach. In the last few days he and his team have worked intensively on many areas of the game. Smotherman hopes that progress can be seen against Linz: “We have to get better, especially in goal scoring. In Laibach, this ineffectiveness cost us the game.”
Sascha Bauer stays
Striker Sascha Bauer remains on board. After the try-out phase, the club decided to continue signing Bauer at least until the end of the season. “I am of course happy that it worked. The team, the fans, the city – I really feel very comfortable here.” By re-signing Sascha Bauer, the HCI is reacting to Nicholas Schintler’s long injury break.
There’s a score to settle with Linz
Tomorrow’s game will be the Haie’s second meeting of the season with the Black Wings Linz. The Linz team won the first encounter in mid-October, also in the TIWAG Arena, 3-1. Coach Smotherman expects his team to perform differently tomorrow: “We were too passive in this game and actually just reacted. We are a team that must always move forward, not sit back. We have to do better.”
Intense week
An intensive week awaits the cracks and fans of the HCI. After the game against Linz, the home games against Bozen (Friday) and Fehérvár (Sunday) are still on the program.
