Jonas M Oscarsson in the stable has full control of the quartet. First up is a very interesting new acquisition. 9 Midyat Zaz (V75-1) recently arrived at Jägersrostallet after earlier in his career staying with Timo Nurmos. In that stage, the gelding showed good capacity with six victories in sixteen starts. Class 1 trials now apply.
– Midyat Zaz is a small, but nice horse. There is good resilience in him and you feel that he has made the achievements that he has made. Everything is good in training but we are staying a bit neutral about him now that it is the first start for us. The horse has moved from Nurmos, had a feed change and all that, so this will be a test. It will be quite good with track nine, from there we can sneak along and see where the horse stands for the day, but so far everything feels good, says Jonas.
Has risen
In Diamantsoet, the weapon is called 12 Tidore Degato (V75-2). The seven-year-old daughter of Maharajah has been on the rise lately, taking two wins and two silvers in her last four appearances. However, the starting position on Saturday left a lot to be desired.
– She got a hard track now. If she had been allowed to tile one or a running track or something like that, we would probably have believed in a pretty good chance. The horse has risen very well lately and made many top races. We are very happy with her line and form, but it will probably take a lot if we are to win this race from here, even if the form is good.
Shapely sheep too 3 Qillerbee (V75-5) said to be. The four-year-old, who competes in the Class 2 trial, boasts two straight victories, both taken from the lead and in superior style. Maybe Qillerbee can be a candidate for victory from a good position? However, Oscarsson is not sure.
– He has had a slightly motley road forward, but now he has two in a row in a good way. Since then, of course, it has been against much simpler opposition than what the horse is facing now. He’s been pretty fair to some of the ones he’s going up against here, although I think the likes of Klondyke River, That’s So Spicy and a few others are a bit too hard on him so far. We’ve got a good position and maybe can be third, fourth but I’d be surprised if he wins on the V75.
Best chance?
Possibly the stable has saved its strongest card for last. 1 Natorp Bo (V75-6) has shown great ability in the past although currently lacking a win in the streak. However, the horse last got a race in his body after an absence from competition and drew an always interesting inside track behind the car in the Silver division.
– He looked very nice last time and when the driver turned him down on the “stretch”, the horse didn’t really understand what was going on when he went down to the left instead of the right. He probably lost some position on that and maybe would have been second instead of third to make us really happy. But he got a race in his body and there are fairly frequent starts now, so it will be interesting to see what he can come up with.
Could he be a contender to win here?
– He had a good chance during the Stochampionats weekend to win on the V75 and then we got the race we wanted, but it wasn’t enough. It probably needs a little more, although it is a great horse and it must be a dream to drive him. In any case, he should have some flap to be able to win, but he can get that from track one. Spontaneously, I think he might go better from behind the leader.
