Syed Abdul Hafeez, director of football in the first football team of Al-Ahly Club, confirmed that a complaint will be filed with the African Union “CAF” after the events of the Sudanese Al-Hilal match.

Al-Ahly qualified for the quarter-finals of the African Champions League, after finishing second in the group, after a positive tie with Al-Hilal of Sudan with a goal for each team, in the match that was held at the “Blue Jewel” stadium in Sudan, in the sixth and final round of the group stage.

“The 8 teams that qualify for the quarter-finals are difficult, but the African Union list must be applied,” Abdel-Hafeez said in comments on Al-Ahly.

He continued: “The regulation provides for the cancellation of the meeting in the event of riots and forcing the referee to stop the match, calculating the result for the away team, and we are awaiting the decision of the African Union, and there will be movement by the club management.”

He explained: “We were running in the game in fear, thank God for the performance and the high spirit, and the atmosphere of the match was difficult, we were playing in a military barracks and not a sports atmosphere.”

He added, “It does not differentiate with Al-Ahly from the one we face, but there is a regulation that must be applied, so that it does not happen again in the future.”

He continued: “We are still in the dressing room at Al-Jawhara Stadium, and we are waiting for the security decision to move to the hotel for dinner, and then go to the airport.”

Concerning the injury of Yasser Ibrahim: “He is pleased with the performance of Yasser Ibrahim, and he is wounded in the head, and he is fine.”

Regarding the refereeing, he said: “There is an intervention by a player for Al-Hilal Al-Sudan in the first half. He should have received a red card, but how do you apply the law in these atmospheres?”
