Mauricio Macri added: “There is no reason to ask for the match to be postponed. The meeting will pass safely on the part of the fans and the players. I trust that.”

River Plate sets foot in Libertadores Cup final

The Boca Juniors and River Plate teams met in the Libertadores Cup final last year, and the return match witnessed riots at the Monumento stadium, which led to the transfer of the match by the South American Football Association to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the Spanish capital Madrid.

The Argentine River Plate team set foot in the Libertadores Cup final, beating its Boca Juniors counterpart in the semi-final of the competition.
