Home Show: we feel at home

The multifunctional room in Veymerange is hosting the Home Show until Sunday evening. About fifty exhibitors are present. Construction, insulation, renovation, interior fittings, windows and verandas, heating, kitchen … Everything that closely affects the comfort of the house is at your fingertips. Demand is now reinforced by spring events.

“Confined to their homes, people had time to see all the flaws in their homes, to consider work. Today, they are ordering, ”testifies a salesperson from the Somme company. In this Moselle SME, nearly 400 staircases are manufactured per year. The health crisis will not change anything. On the contrary, accumulated savings (85 billion, a record) encourages some French people to invest to make their homes more beautiful and more comfortable. The company’s presence in Thionville this weekend is all the more justified as the border sector offers great business opportunities.

Expansion of housing on the rise

Further on, the Meurthe-et-Moselle landscaper Jimmy Andres has pulled out all the stops to attract visitors. Its services are of variable geometry: from a few hundred euros for the creation of a small massif to 10,000 € for a complete arrangement of a garden, including a fence. The Covid-19 crisis has not helped his affairs, “but compared to others, I’m not complaining”.

The builders came in droves. Their morale seems to be mixed. “This is normal, because there are a lot of gray areas in the job market for the months to come,” dares a salesperson from Oxeo. The company, which offers traditional houses, and also with wooden frames, has nevertheless had time to make reservations. “Coming out of confinement, the phone did not stop ringing. We had three historic months! People needed a garden and space to breathe… ”

And when the budget for a house is not there, that for the extension remains within the realm of the possible. At Rénovert, for example, 65% of requests relate to housing expansion.

From 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., multifunctional room in Veymerange.
