Home games for Großburgwedel in the table tennis Bundesliga

GROßBURGWEDEL

After the two wins in the last two games against Poppenbüttel and Kleve, the TTK Großburgwedel is currently in 7th place in the table in the 3rd Table Tennis Bundesliga for women. But since the competition was able to score recently, staying up in the league is not yet a done deal.

Next weekend, on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 2 p.m., ASC Göttingen will be visiting the primary school sports hall in Großburgwedel. The first leg in Göttingen was very narrowly lost 4:6, both doubles in the fifth and decisive set with 8:11 and 9:11. The chances of a win for Burgwedel in the home game are therefore quite good. Especially since the TTK has strengthened itself with Natalija Klimanova (1957 TTR points) for the second half of the season, as a result of which Dijana Milosevic (1906 TTR points) slipped into the lower pair cross in third place. Klimanova is a defender and has not yet lost a double with Milosevic in the second half of the season.

In addition, the number one of the ASC, Monika Pietkiewicz (2076 TTR points), has moved from Hanover to Switzerland, so it is questionable whether she will even start against the TTKG. But even if, Burgwedel’s number one, Aida Rahmo (1972 TTR points), won the first leg against her very confidently with 3:0 sets. And the fact that the TTK Großburgwedel takes the game seriously is shown by the fact that the team will be at its best. 17-year-old Sofia Stefanska (1828 TTR points), who was nominated for the German Federal Youth Squad of the DTTB, will also be there. “So we’re hoping for a win against Göttingen,” said team boss Michael Junker.

The second game of the weekend on Sunday, February 28, also at 2 p.m. in Großburgwedel, against third-placed SV DJK Holzbüttgen will be much more difficult. The first leg was moved from December to January due to the corona restrictions and lost 6-1 away. Apart from Klimanova’s doubles with Krenzek, all games were lost. However, Milosevic missed the first leg.

If the DJK starts with the best line-up, it will be difficult for the TTK. Their number one, Valerija Mühlbach (2035 TTR points), is still unbeaten in the second half of the season with 8-0 wins, and number two, Martyna Dziadkowiec (1925 TTR points), also impressed in the first leg against Großburgwedel. If the number three, Rachel Gerarts (1874 TTR points), does not have to move up to the top pair cross, in which she lost both games, but is used below, she is sure to be a real challenge for the TTK. And although the reported number four, Aneta Dziadkowiec, does not compete, Holzbüttgen has a more than full replacement to offer in Jana Vollmert (1826 TTR points), because Vollmert is currently in a positive position with a 11:9 balance. “Dijana was missing in the first leg and could score points in the lower pair cross. If Sofia also scores and then a double runs in our favor, the game could tip over,” said Michael Junker, team boss of TTK Großburgwedel. “Then we would have a real chance.” So everything remains open beforehand – as always in sport.
