As a consequence of the strike in Hollywood, fewer actors and actresses attended the opening of the Venice International Film Festival. However, the red carpet was not empty either: along with members of the jury, such as the New Zealand director Jane Campion or the Irish producer Martin McDonagh, it was possible to see, above all, Italian film stars.
