Hollywood Stole Us “Ezlele Delho Hidutin” – 2024-09-26 19:47:24

/ world today news/ The Norwegian composer changed her voice, she couldn’t recognize it

Is there a connection between the Rhodopes and a Hollywood science fiction production? The answer lies in the soundtrack to one of the latest Disney films – Tomorrowland. In it, the cosmic Bulgarian song “Izlez e Delho haidutin” sounds in a composition called “Creation of the Earth”. The blockbuster is currently in theaters and stars superstar George Clooney. Nothing strange so far, the song choice fits the plot perfectly. The problem is that the singer of the song – Valya Balkanska, understands that she sings for Hollywood from the media. Can he sue the studio? “In order to claim anything, the claims must be established. Be clear that this is the sound recording that was used. Do a specialized examination to determine if it is the original or if it is some kind of remix,” he explained to “Standard” lawyer Momchil Mladenov.

A fan of BG folklore and a successful composer in Hollywood stole the cosmic “Delo haydutin” from us. Thomas Bergersen, the author of the piece, mixed the Rhodope song for “Utrelandia” in such a way that even Valya Balkanskii herself did not recognize her voice at first. “In the beginning, it was done in such a way that I couldn’t recognize myself. And I said that it wasn’t mine. Later on, it became clear that it was me and that it was the whole song. Someone else doesn’t perform it like that,” Balkanska told “Standart” yesterday. . In front of BNT1, the Norwegian admitted succinctly that he used part of “Delo”. Since 2006, Thomas, together with his colleague Nick Fenix, has been running one of the most successful film music studios in LA – “Two Steps From Hell”. The two have a hand in the soundtrack of hits like

“Avatar”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “The Chronicles of Narnia”

“Twilight”, “Harry Potter”. However, his author’s project “Illusions” is strongly influenced by BG folklore. The song “Starvation”, for example, was performed by “The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices” and was based on the folk song “Aishinko, pilya shareno”. It voices the trailer for the movie “Doctor Who: The First Question”. In the same album, Elitsa Todorova, who made a sensation at Eurovision with Stundji, sings the vocals in the song “Soulseeker”, and Vladislava Vasileva – in “Rada”, “Femme fatale” and “Dreammaker”.

Balkanska, however, has neither the money nor the strength to seek its own from Bergersen. He believes that the state is responsible for the stolen song, which is a national treasure. “We don’t really have the legislation, the tools to counter it,” Petar Yanev, the bagpiper with whom Valya works, told “Standard”. According to him, only media noise will not change things.

“In order to have a violation of the rights of Valya Balkanska, the original sound recording with her voice must have been used. If someone else performed the song and their rights have been settled with the producer of the film, unfortunately she cannot have any claims. This, that we associate her with this song does not give her exclusive rights to sing it. It is a folk song and anyone can perform it without infringing copyright, the lawyer explained to “Standard”. Momchil Mladenov. According to him, if there is any change in Balkanska’s performance, it could be considered that a violation could be reached, insofar as her consent was not obtained. “But it must be seen who is the producer of this sound recording – whether it is “Balkanton”, whether it is BNR. Before November 10, 1989, there were no private producers. The principle is that where the defendant’s residence is, the case should be heard. T. f., in this case

claims should be sought from the States

says the lawyer.
This is not the first time that “Dello hajdutin” entered the soundtrack of a Hollywood film. 5 years ago, the song sounded in the American “Restrepo”, dedicated to the fight against the Taliban. However, to what extent does the Bulgarian motive correspond with the carnage in Afghanistan? This outrages Valya Balkanska as well. “Dello goes and they shoot and kill each other, and my father is killed at the front. It’s like my father shoots and I accompany him with a song. And no one, nothing! I learn all this from the media. Ugly picture! Then again no one didn’t look for me, now no one!” Valya Balkanska shared her bitterness to “Standart”.

They are filling their arms, but the name “Bulgaria” is not there

The legend calls for the Ministry of Culture to intervene

– Mrs. Balkanska, did you know that the song you sang “Izlel e Delho haidutin” was used in an American film?

– I don’t know anything! The song is played. This is the place for the Ministry of Culture to find out how foreign things can be stolen, to fill their pockets, and the name “Bulgaria” is nowhere to be found. If we do that in Bulgaria, do you realize what will happen, the sky and the heavens will fall on us. We fools can give each other production to export and then it will happen that we will buy absolutely everything expensively.

– Are you going to judge someone?

– I don’t have the opportunity to judge, if the state has this song as a national treasure, to stand up. With these communications, with these phones, he cannot find Valya Balkanska and ask if I will give the song, but he can find it. Tell me what to do?! Rozhen will now have songs, foreign media will come again, they will film, they will export and no one will hold them accountable. That’s how we sell ourselves the nice things and then feel where they hit us in the head.

– Have you been offered to work abroad?

– There have been many attempts, but I cannot leave my homeland. I love Bulgaria as I love my children. If you let the hearth cool down, then it is difficult to warm it up.

Let them get a US attorney

An unsubstantiated claim can be a double-edged sword, warns Momchil Mladenov

– Attorney Mladenov, if it turns out that the recording of the song “Izlez e Delho Haidutin” is the original one, how to proceed in court?

– My advice is that whoever is the Bulgarian producer of the original recording, or his heirs, should investigate the matter. One might consider hiring an American lawyer when the movie comes out.

– The movie was released on May 22…

– I’m not familiar. Once it is here, this thing can be much more easily established and, accordingly, a ban on the use of the film can be requested, insofar as it infringes the rights of the one who imported it. This is a delicate matter because an unsubstantiated claim against such an industry with such a large film producer could be a double-edged sword. Because if the broadcast of the film is stopped without reason, damages will be caused, which must subsequently be paid. In order to claim anything, the claims must be established. Be clear that this is the sound recording that was used. to do a specialized examination to find out if it is the original or some kind of remix.

– Should the expertise be carried out in Bulgaria?

– If it comes to a case, if it is under American law, they do not work there with the type of expertise that is under our law. Each country brings an expert there. If it is conducted in Bulgaria – yes, it will be an independent examination. Whatever we comment on, however, is still only conjecture.

Nostalgia for the future torments Clooney

“When I was little, the future was different,” says George Clooney’s character at the beginning of Tomorrowland. It is the first Disney film to be inspired by an entire theme park at the studio. Clooney’s character is nostalgic for the bright future. The film is loaded with optimism. A smart and optimistic teenage girl with a burning curiosity for the new and different meets a grown-up prodigy inventor and sets out with him on a perilous mission to uncover the secrets of a mysterious place beyond space and time. It exists in the memories of both of them and is called “Utrelandia”. “We wanted to make a city that was a collection of buildings from different eras that fit together,” explains director Brad Bird, winner of two Oscars and the creator of the animations “Ratatouille” and “The Phenomenal”. The premiere of the mysterious “Utrelandia” was on May 22. In addition to Clooney, Hugh Laurie starred in the blockbuster.
