The Russian director Timofey Kulabin has focused on the work of the outstanding French playwright Bernard Marie Collette in the second half of the 20th century. The director says: “In 2022, the theme of forbidden, unspoken and irresistible attraction must be tackled differently. We are creating a show about a secret lust that is punishable and criminalized by any society.”
Production The loneliness of the cotton countryside the premiere will take place on May 28, followed by performances on May 29, 30 and 31. They will be in English with Latvian subtitles.
The initial phase of this production was co-financed in January by Daile’s current partner and project initiator, the International Contemporary Art Support Foundation. Territory. The agreement was terminated immediately after Russia’s war in Ukraine. Now the final production phase will be provided from own revenues, as well as thanks to the support of the theater’s innovation partner LMT.
