Hollywood screenwriters reached an agreement with the studios at the end of September and ratified a new contract. This officially ended the historic strike that lasted almost 150 days. The agreement also sets stricter rules for the use of artificial intelligence, Yahoo Finance reported.

The union said Monday night that 99% of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) members, or 8,435 people, voted to ratify the contract, with only 90 votes, or 1% of all members, opposed. The terms of the new agreement are valid from September 25, 2023 to May 1, 2026.
