Hollywood in Standstill as SAG Joins Writers’ Strike for Better Working Conditions

All of Hollywood came to a standstill after the announcement that the Screen Actors Guild of America (SAG) had made the decision to join the strike initiated by the writers’ sector in order to demand better working conditions in the television and film industry.

This initiative brought with it many consequences, some of the most controversial and mentioned are the pause in the recordings or production of any project in progress, as well as the suspension of press tours and promotional events for the tapes.

Oppenheimer was one of the first films to cancel its premiere, and although it failed to go on a wide press tour, this time it was Tom Cruise who spoke about it showing disagreement with this situation and requesting that they allow him to promote at least his films that are about to be released.

The actor from “Al Filo del Mañana” asked the SAG this action because a couple of weeks ago the penultimate film of his classic spy franchise was released “Mission Impossible: Killer Sequence Part One” and after the outbreak of the strike he was denied the opportunity to publicize his tape and attend promotional events.

At the request, the president of the SAG, Fran Drescherhe replied, telling him that the objective of the strike is to support professional actors, who are struggling to maintain a future, a family, and not for well-known actors and actresses, since they make their own deals.

The Union counter sued asking him to join the ranks of protests, however, Tom replied that it is possible for him to support in other ways. What do you think of the actor’s attitude? Tell us in the comments!
