A number of celebrities Hollywood join the vote about the decision Elon Musk buy Twitter on Tuesday (26/4). They protested Elon Musk’s decision to buy the social media platform.
The protests that came up from the artists were varied. Some consider Elon Musk’s ownership of Twitter a dangerous thing. This is because Musk has been talking about freedom of speech before and after buying Twitter shares.
There are also those who decide to no longer use the platform because they are worried about the consequences Musk will cause after buying Twitter.
Here are a number of Hollywood artists who protested Elon Musk’s decision to buy Twitter.
1. Cate Blanchett
Cate Blanchett was one of the first actresses to respond to the news that Elon Musk bought Twitter. He said the news was a dangerous thing.
“It’s dangerous. That’s all I can say, it’s very, very dangerous,” Blanchett told VarietyMonday (25/4) US time.
2. Jameela Jamil
Jameela Jamil also voiced the news that had shocked Twitter’s timeline recently. The star of The Good Place series even took decisive steps after deciding to leave Twitter.
“Ah, he got Twitter. I want this to be something here as my last tweet,” wrote Jamil via Twitter.
“I fear this free speech will help this hellish platform achieve its ultimate form of hatred, bigotry and misogyny. Good luck,” he continued while uploading a photo with a pet dog.
Jamil is known to be quite vocal in voicing social issues through his personal Twitter account. She often expresses protests related to issues of feminism to environmental issues.
