Holleeder crate was a sticker, but who is behind it remains a great mystery | Inland

Pamela Uijtdewilligen from Terneuzen did not know what she saw when she went shopping in the supermarket last week. On a beer crate, exactly where the logo is, it was not ‘Heineken’ but ‘Holleeder’. Once Pamela got home, she immediately pitched her special purchase to Instagram and Facebook.

It didn’t take long before Heineken was also aware. The brewery contacted her and collected the crate last Friday in Terneuzen for internal investigation. Willem Holleeder is a sensitive subject for the brewery, as Holleeder was involved in the 1983 kidnapping of Freddy Heineken.

“The crate was examined in the brewery and they were prints on paper, which were pasted over the original printing,” says Heineken spokesperson Lisa van der Heijden. “We do not know at the moment where and by whom this was pasted on, and it will probably also be difficult to trace.” The brewery continues to try to find out who is behind the campaign, says Van der Heijden.

Pamela received a surprise from the manager for the returned crate. She posted a photo on Facebook. Fittingly, there was also a Heineken crate among the gifts. But this time without the name Holleeder.
