British actor Tom Hollander, known for the series White Lotus, claims that his agency once sent him a box office bonus for the star of the Marvel Studios movies by mistake. His colleague Tom Holland, who became famous as Spider-Man in a number of comic book adaptations, was to receive the seven-figure figure instead. It was reported by the BBC News server.

“We had the same agents for a while and the people in the accounting department got it wrong,” Hollander told host Seth Meyers on his NBC talk show Late Night. “It was very difficult because, you know, I was here first, but he’s extremely famous,” he added jokingly.
Explaining how he accidentally came up with the payment, Hollander said he was in the theater watching his friend perform there for £300 (8700 crowns). “I was sitting smugly in the audience because I’d just done a show for the BBC for £30,000 or so, which was supposed to last me for the next year or so, and I was thinking, ‘Well, that’s amazing, I’m very successful,'” the actor said.

He checked his e-mails during the break and saw one with a payslip labeled “Avengers Cash Bonus”. “It was a staggering amount,” said the 56-year-old actor, who also starred in Pirates of the Caribbean and Pride and Prejudice. “It wasn’t his salary. It was his first cash bonus, not the full cash bonus, but just the first. And it was more money than I had ever seen. It was a seven-figure sum. My sense of complacency disappeared,” he added.
Holland, who dates Euphoria and Spider-Man and Dune star singer Zendaya, has played Spider-Man in six Marvel movies.
“I don’t actually get confused with him, of course, but in non-visual contexts I get confused with him all the time,” Hollander said. He added that he was occasionally introduced to “excited, then confused and disappointed kids” who probably thought they were meeting Spider-Man.
