Hollabrunn – Quo vadis SPÖ: Basis wants new structures

Basically, the red district chief Richard Pregler “g’scheit” to ask the opinion of the members. He himself had already participated in the survey. “And of course I supported our chairwoman Pamela Rendi-Wagner.” Why? “She is the person I can best imagine at our top.”

The Immendorfer knows that “others never tire of fighting them”. However, he is convinced that the survey for Rendi-Wagner will be positive.

The internal quarrels are the real evil. There are “gross communication difficulties”. Pregler credits the party chairman with the fact that “she is her husband and does not simply disappear like some in the past”. However, he misses questions in the direction of “a necessary structural reform”.

Lion Dungl is the chairman of Hollabrunn’s Socialist Youth (SJ). The 19-year-old will take part in the survey, but: “I will not express my trust in Pamela Rendi-Wagner.” The SJ decided this at its association day in Linz. “Unfortunately, there was no renewal of content with her, decisions are and were made on her own, employees were given notice without notice,” Dungl lists a few reasons. But: “The problems of the SPÖ are not due to one person alone.”

“Finally relate to content”

How would Dungl get the party going, which had suffered some losses in the recent elections? “We finally have to relate to content instead of constantly dealing with ourselves.”

Especially in times when right-wing extremism becomes socially acceptable again and humanity is lost, as Dungl says, it is important to form a united and strong counterpole together – “for humanity, equality and solidarity.” Pregler also agrees here: “That, what made us strong is solidarity and friendship. “

For Mailberg Mayor Herbert Goldinger it is also clear to take part in the survey. “I am considering putting the trust in Pamela Rendi-Wagner. I haven’t quite decided yet, ”Goldinger remains vague. The SPÖ does not see the current situation of the SPÖ as bad “as it is made bad by some members and the media”. When crises emerge, such as the current corona virus or the refugee crisis, it becomes clear that there are problems in other parties and that not everything is bliss. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz had to deal with internal criticism and disagreements.

“From this point of view, my situation is not that bad in my opinion,” says Goldinger.
