Inflation also affects Poles’ holiday trips. – I do not remember such a season when during the peak season customers could choose the places and hotels they would like to fly to – said Piotr Henicz, vice president of the Polish Chamber of Tourism in TVN24’s “Yes is” program. – Fewer and fewer people can afford these trips and the question arises, what will happen next – he added. The journalist of TVN24 and TTV, Jakub Porada, noted that there were also the current problems with air travel.
–
Piotr Henicz, vice president of the Polish Chamber of Tourism, said that in the next season it can be expected that the trips will be even more expensive. – The prices will be higher. We already know perfectly well that hotel contracts for the next year, for the following years, are already much higher (…) by 15-20 percent – pointed out the vice president of the ITAKA Travel Agency.

ITAKA, together with TUI Poland and Rainbow, is one of the leading travel agencies in Poland.

Holidays 2022 – prices and directions
As Henicz noted, travel agencies for many years used the slogan: the earlier, the cheaper (the so-called first minute – ed.). – It was a slogan that, of course, some Poles used and made reservations well in advance, because then there is a greater selection of offers, while some customers assumed: we will wait until the last minute, because we will definitely find something cheaper – he explained.
–
Piotr Henicz stressed that “this year the situation is completely different”. – All the customers who booked this season six months ago have won a lottery ticket. We advertised it in such a way that summer 2022 is the best investment, not knowing at all what direction it is going inflation. Unfortunately, we have overtaken this phenomenon and at the moment it looks like this that indeed, people who buy trips at the moment are buying the same hotels 20-30 percent more expensive, the same dates than those who booked half a year ago – pointed out the guest “Yes,” on TVN24.
–
There are also problems with flights, which was pointed out by Jakub Porada, journalist of TVN24 and TTV. – The worst thing is that some people think about whether these planes will fly, because it has been a problem recently – pointed out Porada.
–
During the pandemic, when air traffic decreased significantly due to travel restrictions, employment was also reduced, especially among ground staff, and now that the demand for flying has returned to pre-pandemic levels, airports have lacked staff for baggage handling, security, security or cleaning, and airlines are unable to perform all scheduled flights.
–
“I don’t remember such a season”
Piotr Henicz pointed out that Poles have a “very large selection” of domestic and foreign travel offers with travel agencies. – I do not remember such a season when at the peak, and this is what we are at the moment, customers could choose places and hotels to which they would like to go – emphasized the vice president of the ITAKA Travel Agency.
–
The reason is that there is less interest in traveling than in previous years. – Fewer and fewer people can afford these trips and the question arises what will happen next. Because this year is still unique and specific due to the fact that this demand, the so-called pocovid, has been delayed. Many Poles have not left for two years, this year they have stated that no matter what happens, we are going on vacation, why keep the money, not knowing what will happen with this money in a year, Henicz noted.
–
Jakub Porada pointed out that although you can still find low-cost airline ticket prices, it is not for 1 zloty or 39 zlotys, as it was in the past. This is an offer for those who prefer to organize their trip on their own. – Maybe not for July, but for September, because it suited my vacation plans that way, I managed to find Sardinia for about PLN 100 – he said. Advice also booked tickets for Cyprus for January 2023 at the price of about PLN 100.
