In neighboring countries, the Tauern, Fernpass, Arlberg, Rhine Valley, Brenner, Karawanken and Gotthard routes and the trunk roads to and from the Italian, French and Croatian coasts are at risk of congestion. In Austria, increased traffic is to be expected along the Inntal, Tauern and Brenner autobahns due to the blocking of alternative routes.
Waiting times of 60 minutes should be planned at the borders of some neighboring countries, and significantly more for trips to Slovenia, Croatia, Greece and Turkey and back. When entering and leaving Germany, the three motorway border crossings Suben (A3 Linz – Passau), Walserberg (A8 Salzburg – Munich) and Kiefersfelden (A93 Kufstein – Rosenheim) are particularly at risk of congestion.
