In St. Petersburg, the festival of graduates of “Scarlet Sails” began. Traditionally, the show takes place on the night of Saturday to Sunday in the waters of the Gulf of Finland.
In 2020, marks the 140th anniversary of the author of the famous story “Scarlet Sails”, so the concert numbers will mainly be devoted to the works of the writer. The script and director of the concert part of the festival was Vasily Barkhatov.
According to the director, this year the organizers prepared for tens of millions of spectators numerous surprises, and the celebration itself will amaze with its scale. The appearance of Captain Gray’s ship will be closest to the scenes from Alexander Greene’s book. The performer of the role Assol will surprise the audience with her age, Barkhatov noted.
On the graduate show will perform RASA duo, the Beasts group, Dima Bilan, Vera Brezhneva, Iowa, Vlad Solomyany and other performers. Leading the holiday will be Ivan Urgant and Daria Alexandrova.
Scarlet Sails is the only grandiose performance in the world dedicated to school graduates. The first holiday took place on June 27, 1968, it was held until 1979. After a quarter-century break in 2005, tradition revived with the support of the Rossiya Joint-Stock Bank, the government of St. Petersburg, and Channel Five. Scarlet Sails became one of the most colorful holidays on the planet, and last year received the prestigious Best Event Awards World.
