Hokksund, Eiker | Moved to frontal collision: – Major material damage

HOKKSUND: At 07:00 on Friday morning, the emergency services went to the E134, in the area around the Eikersenteret in Hokksund, following a report of a head-on collision between two cars.

– There is major material damage to the vehicles. Unknown extent of damage to the people involved, the police write on Twitter.

The road was blocked in both directions for a period.

– Involved persons are treated by health personnel on site. The car door of one of the cars was torn off in the collision, and the driver of this car was lying in the snow close to the car. The person was awake and conscious, the police write just before 07.30.

Unsure of the circumstances

The incident leader at the scene, Bård Olsen, tells Drammens Tidende that they are unsure of the cause of the accident.

– There has been one person in each of the cars. Both appear to be upbeat and talkative. The two are going with the ambulance to the hospital since there has been a strong collision, says Olsen.

When the police arrived at the scene, the two drivers were in separate cars, according to the incident leader.

– We have not received any explanation from the two yet. They have received health care and are being taken to the hospital, so far there is no suspicion of anything other than an accident.

Right next to where the two accident cars are, the central discount on the E134 begins/ends.

– We are unsure how this happened, whether they were driving in the same lane or what. The road is split up with a median, and further investigation will show what has happened, says Olsen.

Traffic was blocked in both directions at the site, but at 07.45 traffic from Mjøndalen in the direction of Hokksund will be allowed to run as normal, while traffic from Hokksund in the direction of Mjøndalen will be blocked for a while longer.
