Hogwarts Legacy will be the Harry Potter game of your dreams

Where Star Wars has tens of books, comics, games and other spin-offs, they are all equally canon are, the Harry Potter mythos is very limited. No comics, not a mountain of extra books: it largely stays with the movies and sometimes a mobile game.

Hogwarts Legacy was developed by Avalanche Software, the developer behind Disney Infinity. The game is set in the nineteenth century, so for the period in which JK Rowling’s books are set.

Players can create their own wizard and go to Hogwarts as a student, as the magic school is called in English. The ultimate dream of every Harry Potter fan.

Hogwarts Legacy includes the Forbidden Forest, Hogsmeade Village and other iconic locations from the movies and books in addition to the school itself.

The epic first trailer may sound familiar to diehard Harry Potter fans. That is not surprising, because the first information about this game leaked in 2018.

Portkey Games

Little else is known about Hogwarts Legacy. The game will be out sometime in 2021, but don’t expect an early release. Then it is probably more about the holidays. The game will be released under the Portkey Games label, a new branch of Warner Bros. which is specifically concerned with developing Harry Potter games.
