Despite some critical opinions, Hogwarts Legacy is a blockbuster whose success can hardly be debated. In just three weeks of sales, according to server information Game Industry the game became the fifth best-selling title of the last twelve months, behind such titans as FIFA 23, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Grand Theft Auto 5 or Elden Ring. The trip to Hogwarts dominates not only the date from the last weeks, but also the overall statistics of the European ranking started six years ago, where it is currently sixth, which is not bad at all for a newcomer.
As for the start itself, in this respect Hogwarts Legacy surpassed for example Red Dead Redemption 2 or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Despite the impressive success of this work, the demand for games fell by 10%, which is justified by the absence of really interesting titles . However, certain parts of the consoles did well. PS5 sales increased fivefold and the Xbox Series X/S wasn’t bad either, with a nice 13% increase. On the other hand, the Nintendo Switch, which was not interested in the European market, did not do well, so its sales fell by 28%.
