Here you can find the beasts in Hogwarts Legacy
On the large map of the open world you will find symbols with a paw everywhere. These appear as soon as you zoom in a bit. If you hover over each individual building, the name of the animal living there appears.
You can find most of the beasts in several regions and also very often. This applies to jobberknolls, nifflers and moon calves. You rarely meet animal creatures like the Graphorn or unicorns. You can only catch a beast during a quest.
Here’s where to find all the beasts:
- Direct crawl – Quest “Professor Howin’s Task”, open world
- Einhorn – Quest “The Unique Unicorn”, open world
- fwuuper – Open World
- Graphorn – Main quest “San Bakar’s Trial”, open world
- Hippogreif – Main Quest “Way Up”
- Jobberknoll – Quest “The Elf of the Snapbag and the Loom”, open world
- kneeling – Open World
- cuddlemuff – Quest “The Elf of the Snapbag and the Loom”, open world
- mooncalf – Quest “The Elf of the Snapbag and the Loom”, open world
- Niffler – Open World
- Phoenix – Quest “Phoenix Departure”
- Giant purple toad – Quest “Professor Howin’s Task”, open world
- Thestral – Dark Arts DLC, Open World
This is how you save beasts with the snap sack
In order to be able to save the beasts, you need a very specific spell. The snap baga small bag that beasts can hold in order to carry them, obtained from Deek’s Room of Requirement quest “The Elf, the Snapsack, and the Loom”.
You rescue and catch beasts with the snap sack by aiming at the beast to be rescued and casting the spell. The beast is then sucked into the snap sack.
Recommendation: To make things easier, you can sneak up on the elusive beast with the Disillusionment Spell and slow it down with Arresto Momentum. So you can safely put every animal in the snap bag.
