The Dutch hockey players also won the second game of the Pro League on Wednesday night (local time). New national team coach Paul van Ass’s team was 3-1 too strong for the host country in Santiago del Estero, Argentina. The men went down for the second straight game.

In the second quarter it becomes 3-0 on a corner from Yibbi Jansen. Just before the break, Agustina Gorzelany responded with a corner kick.

Last summer, defending Olympic champions the Netherlands were 3-1 too strong for Argentina in the World Cup final in Spain. On Friday and Saturday, the female hockey players will again play against the British and Argentine women.

The Dutch are still waiting for their first Pro League win. National coach Jeroen Delmée’s team took the lead twice against Argentina (2-2) and then fell on penalties. The mistakes were blamed on Thierry Brinkman and Jorrit Croon.

Tjep Hoedemakers and Jip Janssen (corner) scored the Dutch goals in regular time. The hockey players started the new Pro League season on Tuesday with a painful defeat against Great Britain (3-0). The World Cup begins on January 13.
