In a health context that is constantly evolving, the Municipality of Thionville has chosen to maintain its Christmas market from December 5 to 23. On the program, a revised edition, adapted, to meet the new instructions and ensure the protection of everyone. The atmosphere will revolve around the tales and legends of the Grand Est and in particular Hänsel and Gretel. “In the years to come, this theme will be extended to other tales that are part of our heritage,” announced Thierry Ghezzi, deputy dedicated to the heart of the city and to shops. Place Anne-Grommerch
With 17 planned chalets, it is a real gourmet village that will open up around a central pagoda. Inside it, a stage will allow musical entertainment provided by groups from the Thionville area. In addition, to follow up on the announcements of the prefecture this Friday prohibiting standing meals, a space of 60 seats will also be installed.

Place Claude-Arnoult
Between the stalls of traders in the square offering catering, a giant-sized labyrinth will be installed to allow children to wander to the exit and to the teddy bear chalet which will mark its return.

Place Au-Bois
To replace the ice rink (read elsewhere), the municipality has chosen a giant toboggan slide. Enough to do some nice toboggan runs or on inflatable buoys, all on a structure designed to avoid people crossing. A photocall will also be installed on the square.

Jemmapes Street
A chalet mainly dedicated to children will allow them to try their hand at cooking and baking thanks to workshops led by food craftsmen from Thionville with three meetings a day every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Santa Claus will also have his throne there. Other events will be announced in the coming weeks.

Augustins Square
The solidarity market of charitable associations will allow everyone to help their neighbor.

Sound and light
To illuminate the city, the municipality has decided to offer something new. Light mappings, installation of skies of lights, luminous reindeer… Everything to immerse yourself in the Christmas atmosphere with a new sound system as a bonus!
