(PLO)- Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Press Awards is an annual event of the tourism industry to recognize and honor reporters with outstanding contributions.
At noon on December 7, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism coordinated with the Journalists Association to organize a Press Award ceremony. Tourism Ho Chi Minh City 13th in 2023.

After 60 days of launching, the Organizing Committee received 145 entries from 56 journalists, reporters, editors, and collaborators with a total of 228 news, articles, and reports from 34 press agencies.
The award structure includes 24 awards for 3 types of journalism: broadcasting; print and electronic newspapers; press photos.
For radio and television broadcasting, the first prize went to the group of reporters from the Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City – VTV9 with the work “Removing barriers in tourism development”. The second prize went to Ho Chi Minh City Television with the work: “Linking Ho Chi Minh City tourism development: Need models”.
In this category, the group of reporters Dao Ha – Nhat Diem – Nguyen Tien of Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper won the consolation prize with the series “Ideal destination in Ho Chi Minh City”.
The first prize in the print and electronic newspaper category went to reporter Hong Phuc, Dan Viet Newspaper in Ho Chi Minh City with the article “Awakening the “gold mine” of Ho Chi Minh City tourism”.
Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper won the consolation prize in the print and electronic newspaper categories with the series “Creating momentum for Ho Chi Minh City tourism to breakthrough” by reporter Thu Trinh.
The first prize for the Press Photo category went to reporter Hoang Trieu, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper with the work: “The appearance of the Saigon River is sparkling like never before at the River Festival”
Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism emphasized: “The Tourism industry always strives and does its best with the desire to contribute to the overall development of the City. However, effectiveness depends on the coordinated support of units, departments, branches, businesses and especially the team in charge of communication and propaganda work.
Awarding prizes for the photo contest “Brilliant Ho Chi Minh City”
On the same day, the Department of Tourism coordinated with Le Bao Minh Investment Joint Stock Company to organize the awarding of the photo contest “Brilliant Ho Chi Minh City” to find photos that introduce historical and cultural values. culture, cuisine, people, destinations, products and tourism services of Ho Chi Minh City.
Author Nguyen Dang Viet Cuong won first prize in the contest with a photo set titled: The first Ho Chi Minh City River Festival 2023. Second prize went to author Cao Thi Thanh Ha with a single photo work titled: Shimmering The city lights up.
The third prize went to author Le Hoang Yen with a photo series titled: Social customs and beliefs of the Lunar New Year of the Chinese people in District 5.
