(PLO) – Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications and Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association organized and launched the first “Journalism on Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation” award in 2024.

At the socio-economic press conference on the afternoon of April 11, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Ngoc Hoi informed about the award “The press writes about Digital conversion Ho Chi Minh City” for the first time, 2024.

This is an award organized by the Department of Information and Communications in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association to promote propaganda, create consensus among the people and promote the role of the press in propagandizing and responding to the city’s 2024 theme. Ho Chi Minh City is “Determination to effectively implement digital transformation and Resolution 98 of the National Assembly”.

The award is for all reporters, editors, and members of the City and Central press agencies with permanent offices in the city.

Contest entries are those that reflect promptly, objectively, have a lot of good information, and suggest more problems, solutions, expressions, and creative perspectives on the city’s digital transformation work.

It focuses on the orientations, goals, and tasks of the National Steering Committee on Digital Transformation, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council, and the City Digital Transformation Steering Committee; Key contents of Ho Chi Minh City’s 2024 theme on implementing digital transformation.

The work is about technology solutions and typical digital transformation models, with a prominent highlight on digital data in the fields of public administration, finance, education, health care, communications, and social security. , tourism, transportation, construction, environmental resources, industrial production….

Introduce and encourage typical digital transformation businesses and units, and typical digital transformation state agencies; Individuals and groups have creative and valuable products in digital transformation.

In addition, it can also be media products and programs associated with the digital transformation program of press agencies, other content that is oriented and suitable for digital transformation work, and construction programs. The city becomes a smart urban area of ​​Ho Chi Minh City.

Awards for print, electronic, radio and television newspapers with the genres of reportage, notes, interviews, reports, notes, press signings…

The award ceremony is expected to be held in December 2024.

Contest works are works posted or broadcast from January 1, 2024 to November 30, 2024. Each author or group of authors can submit a maximum of three works. For the journalistic photo category, each author and group of authors can submit a maximum of 20 photos.

The organizing committee plans to award 1 first prize with 30 million VND/prize, 2 second prizes with 20 million VND/prize, 3 third prizes with 15 million VND/prize and 5 consolation prizes with 7 million VND/prize.

In addition, the press agency with the highest number of entries will receive 20 million VND/prize.

The Department of Information and Communications will also propose to award certificates of merit from the City People’s Committee to press agencies, reporters, and editors with outstanding achievements in 2024-themed communication work associated with the digital transformation program when Ho Chi Minh City summarizes the program. annual work plan and results of implementing the theme in 2024.
