H&M Returns to the Ukrainian Market: Boosting the Economy and Job Opportunities

Europe’s largest clothing retail chain H&M is returning to the Ukrainian market.

Already this month, stores of the Swedish company H&M will resume work in Ukraine after almost two years of break. A final decision has been made to return to the Ukrainian market.

This was announced by the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Kuleba in comments publication The Village.

“This week, our diplomats in Stockholm received final confirmation that Ukrainian H&M stores… will begin to resume operations in November this year,” the minister said.

It is worth noting that H&M suspended operations in Ukraine in February 2022 due to the Russian army’s invasion of Ukraine. At that time, there were 9 company stores operating in the country, all of which were closed.

Kuleba noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is conducting the most active negotiations on the return of other international companies to the Ukrainian market, in particular IKEA and Inditex. The latter, we recall, owns such large clothing brands as Bershka, Pull&Bear, Stradivarius, Zara and Massimo Dutti.

The return of H&M to Ukraine will have a positive impact on the country’s economy, as it will provide additional funds to the budget and jobs for Ukrainians.

Earlier, the head of Carlsberg accused the Kremlin of stealing its Russian assets.

We also wrote that EU leaders approved a plan to use proceeds from frozen Russian assets to help Ukraine.
