Jelgavas 50,000 kilograms of slow-moving products prepared at the plant and exported to Germany.

The deal amounted to 56,800 packages, occupying a total of five large trucks, making it one of the company’s most significant deals this year. Thanks to this, products manufactured in Latvia will be available for about 3,000 Germany retail stores.

The implemented export transaction included four types of HKScan Latvia products.

The transaction is not a one-off, but a continuation of the already started cooperation. In the first six months of this year, the company has exported 720 tons of its products to Germany.

In the first half of this year, HKScan Latvia has achieved a 30 percent increase in exports compared to the corresponding period of 2019, the company informed.

In order to continue increasing exports and expand export markets, the company will invest up to one million euros in the development of the Jelgava plant in the coming months.

Asked how the company’s operations in general have been affected by this year’s Covid-19 outbreak, HKScan Latvia informed that so far all the company’s processes have taken place without changes and without interruptions in the production chain.

Due to the current situation with Covid-19, sales in the Horeca sector have decreased, but this is offset by increasing retail and export volumes. The development of existing and new products also continues.
