Slovak hockey strikers Alex Šotek and Jakub Dzivjak have agreed with the parent club HK Poprad on contracts for the 2021/2022 season. The official website of “chamois” informed about it.

This is the first professional contract in his career for 17-year-old Šotek. “It’s a great feeling that I’ve been rewarded with a new contract and that I can continue to work in the parent club. My goals for the new season are high. I would like to play my best and as much as possible to move my career forward. From a team point of view, I would like to help as much of the team as possible and be part of the winning staff. “ said Šotek for hkpoprad.sk.

He played the 2020/2021 season mainly in the project of the Slovak “eighteen”, but he also made his debut in the Tipos extraliga, in which he has 4 starts so far. “Šotek is a talented player with great potential for Slovak hockey. He grew up in a pair with Filip Mešár and we want him to get a better chance in the A-team in Poprad. If this did not happen, the 1st league or junior competition would also be considered, as well as for Jakub Dzivjak, “ said the director of the club Ľudovít Jurinyi.

Dzivjak, two years older, made his A-team debut in Poprad in the 2019/2020 season. In the 2020/2021 year, he jumped into three extra-league matches in which he did not score.
