BRATISLAVA – The hockey players of HK Nitra won Wednesday’s match of the 27th round of the Tipos extraliga over Slovan Bratislava 5:3. “Corgoni” succeeded on the ice of “whites” for the second time in the season and adjusted the state of mutual meetings to 2:1. Under the leadership of new coach Petr Oremus, Slovan has already recorded its fifth loss from the past six duels and continues to occupy the penultimate 11th place in the table.
The score of the match was opened in the 14th minute by the Swedish defender Slovana Ahnelöv, who opened the scoring account in the first meeting in the Tipos extraliga. At the beginning of the middle part of the game, Slovan outscored the opponent with a difference of two goals, but the rest of the second half was clearly in the direction of the guests.
They took advantage of the indiscipline of the home team and turned the unfavorable situation around with three power play goals by Gajdoš, Cotton and Buček. An important accurate shot was scored by Bubel at the beginning of the third period, whose goal was finally awarded the title of winner. Poirier reduced the home team’s lead to a goal difference by 32 seconds, but Nitra’s victory was sealed by Jackson’s empty net.

Both teams will meet twice more at the end of the calendar year in the regional rounds (December 28 in Bratislava and December 30 in Nitra).
