The Verdense auction of jumping stallions started off a lot smoother tonight than the dressage auction a month ago. In no time, auctioneer Bernd Hickert sold the eight premium stallions for an average of 91,000 euros. Landgestüt Celle won the top horse with a bid of 175,000 euros (cat. no. 5 by Aganix du Seigneur) and bought two more stallions for more than a hundred thousand.
Auctioneer Bernd Hickert even made a joke with some self-mockery. When it took a while for the second premium stallion to be auctioned to arrive, he said: ‘We are not here at the dressage inspection’. Last month the auction of dressage stallions went rather smoothly.
Celle brings in blood from the Low Countries
Landgestüt Celle brought in the three top players. The State Stud Farm of Lower Saxony successively purchased the premium stallions cat. no. 5 (Aganix du Seigneur x Eldorado van de Zeshoek TN) for 175,000 euros, cat. no. 29 (Cornet’s Pleasure x Vagabond de la Pomme) for 108,000 euros and cat. no. 43 (Taloubet Z x Chacco-Blue) for 165,000 euros. The latter was purchased together with Canadian investors. With these three stallions, Celle brought in jumping blood from the Low Countries.
The auction is still ongoing and can be followed here.
