Hjalmar taken out in Blågult – then Albin has rescinded: “I think he could have bitten”

On Wednesday, Janne Andersson presented the squad that will represent Sweden in the Nations League group game in early June. Blue-yellow will then face Slovenia (June 2), Norway (June 5), Serbia (June 9) and Norway (June 12).

The rattle among the 25 selected was Djurgårdens IF’s midfielder Hjalmar Ekdal, who was called up to the A national team for the first time.

– It feels fantastic fun of course. A super big honor. A childhood dream come true. It will be fun to experience the national team now and play with all the extremely talented football players, says Ekdal in a comment via Djurgården’s press officer.

As previously known, Hjalmar Ekdal is the younger brother of the national team shadow Albin, who is much more experienced in national team contexts. However, the Sampdoria midfielder has resigned from the collection.

– Albin has had an injury problem since last winter, he has not been able to drive fully and must recover. He has said no, said Janne Andersson at Wednesday’s press conference.

Hjalmar has previously told about the dream of playing with his brother. Something he has to keep waiting for.

– I probably still think that Albin could have bitten together now that I’m with him, but but… No then, it’s clear that it’s sad but at the same time he has been suffering from an injury for a while and it is more important that he heals, says he.

Blue-yellow gathers on 30 May.
