In 2023, the Ministry of Public Health (Minsante) should receive an envelope of 228.168 billion F as a budget allocation. A budget increased by 17.234 billion FCFA compared to 2021.
However, the share of the State budget that is allocated to public health with regard to the contribution of Cameroonian government partners in the fight against HIV AIDS and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and tuberculosis in financing audience is down.

According to official figures, expenditure in the fight against AIDS was estimated at 44,999,675,860 FCFA against 65,620,341,631 FCFA in 2017, representing only half of the forecasts, with sources of funding mainly from international funds, i.e. 87.5% in 2016 and 83.5% in 2017. Spending was primarily oriented towards antiretroviral treatment (55.7% in 2016 and 63.4% in 2017) not taking into account prevalence or incidence of HIV.
