Findings of HIV-AIDS cases in the midst of a pandemic corona virus in Kudus increased in 2020 compared to 2019. As much as 7 percent came from sexual relations between men.

Eny said the HIV-AIDS rate in Kudus increased in 2020. In 2020, in the period January-June, there were 86 cases. In 2019 in the same period, the figure was 60 cases.

“If the total number of cases cumulatively from several years the number of HIV-AIDS cases reached 1,200 cases,” said Eny.
“One day (yesterday) we found four cases,” he continued.
Eny said, the factors that cause the HIV-AIDS rate to increase include the factor of male relationships to risky sex. Their ages are between 18-19 years.
Eny added that friends of PLWHA (People with HIV-AIDS) had previously been equipped to deal with the Corona virus pandemic or COVID-19. PLWHA have been given masks and face shields. Until now, no PLWHA in Kudus has been exposed to Corona.
“So we back up, we give PLWHA friends, because their immunity is low because it is easy for other viruses to enter, especially the COVID-19. We have fortified them by giving free masks for each person. We give them for free to our PLWHA community friends. The obligation to wear the second mask is to use Face Shield and until now there are no positive friends of PLWHA COVID-19. Because from the beginning we will protect it, “said Eny.
