Hitman 3 reviews on Steam for only 50% positive

After a year of being available exclusively on the Epic Games Store for PC players, Hitman 3 is finally out on Steam. However, where the game was well received last year as a worthy conclusion to the World of Assassination trilogy, the game now receives many negative reviews, which means that the score on ‘Mixed’ remains stuck. How is that possible? There are several reasons for this.

First, players are angry that the standard version of the game costs sixty euros, even though the game has been out for a year now. It should be cheaper, or at least offer some sort of ‘launch sale’. In addition, there are no fewer than six versions of Hitman 3 available, which is not only confusing but also unnecessary according to the players. The different versions, for example including DLC, would not provide enough value.

But that is not everything. Not for the first time with the launch of a Hitman game, players experience problems transferring their progression, which when it works is a nice addition as every new Hitman game is a direct sequel to the previous one.

Finally, the Steam version of Hitman 3 is receiving a lot of criticism because of what almost all reviewers who write about it say are very bad VR mode. In general a bad start for Hitman 3 on Steam, which is a shame because it is actually quite a nice game. Hopefully developer IO Interactive can make things right.
