This year’s start of teenagers from Karlovy Vary is absolutely dreamlike. Several players take part in this to a great extent, and David Sedláček takes home this imaginary award for his performances during the weekend.
First, he managed to bring the Pilsen Indians to their knees with two goals, the very next day he exchanged the shooting cross for the accurate eye of the recorder. He recorded five assists in the match with Slavia. So he ended the weekend with seven Canadians, breaking the two-point-per-game mark.
Statistics of the week
Last week we mentioned the large number of penalties in the Komety match with Přerov in the junior extra league. Even now we choose the same stat.
In the match of the junior extra league group A between Slavia and Litvínov, we received twenty-one penalties! Up to fifteen players from both teams were expelled for various offences.
Among the most frequent was rudeness, which accounted for exactly one third of all punishments, i.e. seven.
Match of the week
This week we select the junior match between Pilsen and Mlada Boleslav. Under the roof of the LOGSPEED CZ Arena, it was drama until the last moment.
In the match, the leadership of both teams often alternated. With the visitors in the lead, the home team soon equalised. That’s how the whole match was played. Both teams often used their power plays. Pilsen used three of the five they had, while the guests used two of the six.
Two minutes before the end, the score was 4:4 and extra time was already expected. But Petr Hanyš broke everything in favor of his team, who sent the fighter from Mladá Boleslav into the lead 84 seconds before the end. Plzeň could not react to that and the guests took home the hard-earned three points.
Team of the week
This award goes to the youth selection of Mladá Boleslav, who plundered Pilsen in an absolutely exemplary manner.
They clearly decided Friday’s match against Pilsen Wolves in the second period, when they took the lead by four goals. The wolves still tried to bite the opponent, but it was too late. The 8:2 win for the skaters was a clear signal that they must be reckoned with.
Saturday’s match was a different matter for the visitors. They were losing against Škodovce after just one minute, but they turned the game in their favor in the first period. In the second period, the score increased for both sides, but the one goal difference still remained. The last act offered us a great thriller, but Boleslav kept the lead. After winning 5:7, she could return home with six points!
Moment of the week
In the match between the junior girls of Hradec Králové and Karlovy Vary, we saw a very unusual moment. During the first minute, both goalkeepers had to chase the puck out of their net. First, Filip Krajčík in the visitors’ jersey distinguished himself, but 23 seconds later so did Jakub Aschenbrenner. The scoreboard read 1:1 after the first minute.
