Hit and run at 15 with his mother’s car in Saint-Tropez

At the sight of the gendarmes, a motorist begins a U-turn towards the city center. But he does not know that other patrols have been posted, precisely to deal with these avoidance attempts.

Harrow and sidewalk

The driver, far from stopping, forces the passage, climbs on a sidewalk to avoid the portcullis placed across the road and manages to flee.

A few hours later, in the Tahiti sector, a patrol finally found the white SUV during a call for a disturbance. On board, a 15-year-old boy who had taken his mother’s car to go for a ride.

If the teenager did not show any signs of alcohol, the offenses committed a little earlier earned him police custody (refusal to comply, flight, endangerment, etc.). Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

26 offenses in one night

Two other people followed the same path: one for repeated alcoholism, the other after an outrage and a rebellion at the Gassin hospital in order to take a blood test (the breathalyzer having been refused).

In total, the 20 soldiers mobilized (brigades of Saint-Tropez and La Croix-Valmer, surveillance and intervention platoon, reservists and motorized brigade) recorded 26 offenses (fines and misdemeanors) for blood alcohol levels beyond the legal rate.

Other operations of the same kind will be reproduced at the level of Gassin’s company. To also show the commitment of the Draguignan public prosecutor’s office on the subject, the deputy public prosecutor in charge of road safety was on the scene.
