History of the Rape Murder of a Girl Selling Fried Food

The police succeeded in arresting Indra Septiawan (26), who murdered and raped a teenage fried food vendor named Nia Kurnia Sari (18) in Padang Padang Padang, West Sumatra. The police reveal the history of the murder.

West Sumatra Regional Police Inspector General (Sumbar) General Suharyono explained that the suspect Indra had bought the victim’s fried food with three of his colleagues. While he was buying the fried food, it emerged that the suspect intended to rape the victim.

“On the day of the incident, the victim was selling fried food to houses. At that time the suspect and three of his colleagues bought the victim’s fried food. At that time an intention appeared the rape suspect (the victim),” West said. Sumatra Police Inspector General Suharyono at a press conference at Padang Padang Police Headquarters, Friday (20/9/2024).

Suharyono said after the suspect separated from his three colleagues. He followed the victim and stopped Nia who was about to return to her house after selling it. There the suspect had prepared a rope to tie the victim.

“The perpetrator of this crime followed and confronted the victim in one of the places. And also the criminal intent (rape) took place. At that time
“The victim was held captive, and his mouth was covered by the suspect and (the victim) was taken up the hill,” he said.

The Regional Police Chief said the perpetrator committed the rape on a hill 2 kilometers away from where the victim was previously reported missing. When the rape was done, according to him, the victim’s mouth was also covered by the perpetrator.

“When the victim was detained and raped, the victim’s mouth was covered by the suspect. It is suspected that the victim ran out of the breathing when her mouth was covered,” he explained.

In addition, after forcing the victim on the hill. The suspect immediately took the victim 300 meters from the place where the rape took place. There the victim was buried by the perpetrator at a depth of 1 meter.

“After seeing the victim, he was already unconscious. He took the victim 300 meters from the top of the hill to bury him. The depth of the ground to be buried was 1 meter deep. At the one time, the perpetrator’s first statement was that he only intended to rape, not kill the victim,” he said.

“However, we will first confirm whether the victim was still alive or dead when he was buried. This will be confirmed later by forensic experts,” he continued.

Meanwhile, from initial reports, Indra admitted that she committed the rape and murder alone. According to him, this information will still be developed by the police.

“Initial information is that the suspect did this on his own. However, we are still investigating this information,” he said.

For what he did, according to him, the suspect will be charged with several articles of murder.
