Although the origin of the emergence of the HIV/AIDS virus is still unclear, it was first identified in the United States in 1981 among gay men.
The virus is spread through the exchange of body fluids.
Gay men who have anal and oral sex without a condom have a high risk of contracting it.
However, not only gay people, people of any gender, age or sexual orientation can also be infected with this virus.
Young women with a heterosexual orientation are statistically more likely to be infected with HIV.
